World Space Week 2022
This week is #worldspaceweek and OSTIn, Singapore’s national space office, is exhilarated to welcome Mr Gregory Robinson, former Director of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to Singapore.
Over the weekend, Mr Robinson received the #TIME100 Impact Awards and attended the inaugural Time100 Leadership Forum.
Singapore Space & Technology Ltd , our ecosystem development partner, and OSTIn are delighted to co-organise a Singapore space industry engagement and a student engagement session with Mr Robinson.
During the industry engagement, Mr Robinson spoke about the role Singapore and its industry could play in the global space ecosystem, and encouraged the industry stakeholders to find “our niche in the global space ecosystem”.
During his engagement with students, Mr Robinson inspired our youths about STEM and the future of space through his sharing on how the JWST was launched and deployed.
Mr Quek Gim Pew, Deputy Chairman of OSTIn’s board, was also pleased to host Mr Robinson for lunch, where we exchanged insights on complex project management and discussed global developments in space.
We would like to thank Mr Robinson for generously sharing his experiences and engaging our local space community. Truly, as Mr Robinson said, “when teams work together, discovery is unlimited.”
